Officially launched and verified on June 21, 2023, this program provides passengers with expedited security screening at Canadian airports. Additionally, the CTT offers enhanced security screening benefits to NEXUS members.
Introduced in the year 2000, the program is a partnership between the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), facilitating travelers to bypass standard airport security lines through expedited trusted traveler lanes. The CTT supports both travelers and traders, enabling them to move between countries with quicker screening and secure processes. Eligibility of Trusted Traveler Program
The Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) enables individuals to certify their vehicle occupants, also known as the Global Entry program in the US. Eligibility is determined by criminal offenses for which no pardon has been granted in any country.
This pass facilitates expedited border crossings between Canada and the United States. It is issued to pre-approved low-risk citizens of Canada and the UK. Canadian recipients of the NEXUS program also enjoy TTP benefits throughout their membership.
Members of NEXUS use separate customs lines for streamlined processing. The program extends to verified travelers aged 17 and younger, as well as adults aged 75 and above, ensuring efficient security procedures.
How to Apply for TTP?
In order to qualify for the NEXUS program in Canada, you must do the following:

Step 2: Create an account with U.S. Customs and Border Protection through the TTP system.
Step 3: Complete the application form for NEXUS registration.
Step 4: Submit the application and proceed with the registration process.
Step 5: Pay the non-refundable fee.
Ensure you meet eligibility criteria for both Canada and the U.S., including passing a risk assessment by both countries. Applying early is recommended as processing by TTP can take up to six months.
Once approved, enjoy expedited customs and immigration processing when crossing the U.S.-Canada borders. Membership is valid for five years.
